Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a remade version of the original
Spyro the Dragon trilogy developed by Insomniac Games that originally came out for the PlayStation in 1998. Like any proper remake of classic games, the Reignited Trilogy compiles the original
Spyro the Dragon,
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and
Spyro: Year of the Dragon, with brand new assets and graphics that the team remde from the ground up.
This new gameplay video for
Spyro Reignited Trilogy takes us back to Idol Springs—one of the realms in Summer Forest, which is actually the first of three homeworlds in Avalar—as we get to see
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage in action.
The PlayStation Underground crew sat down with Senior Producers Peter Kavik and Nick Livingston, as well as art director for the game Josh Nadelberg, to discuss some of the game's new NPCs(as opposed to the first Spyro game in which players were rescuing dragons), new mechanics like Spyro being able to swim, maintaining the spirit of the characters without drifting away too much from the lore, and just have fun showing off the game.
Take a look:
Explore the expansive realms, re-encounter the fiery personalities and relive the adventure in fully remastered glory. Because when there’s a realm that needs saving, there’s only one dragon to call.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 21st of September.
