The Game Awards has already platformed the reveal of a new Star Wars video game from Quantic Dream and the first official trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie and now it has played host to the reveal of Monolith Productions' major new title.
It's official; Wonder Woman is getting her own video game! Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, Monolith Productions, the developer best known for Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, will bring the Wonder Woman game to life. Players will take on the role of Diana Prince A.K.A. Wonder Woman and apparently "unite the warriors of two worlds."
It's said that this Wonder Woman game will be one of action-adventure and an open-world one, at that. "The single player open-world action game will introduce an original story set in the DC Universe and allow players to become Diana of Themyscira in the fight to unite her Amazon family and the humans from the modern world."
It seems that this game will be set within its own continuity, though the voice of Diana's mother and her iconic outfit are quite similar to that of the DC Extended Universe and her 2017 movie starring Gal Gadot. It's more likely to have ties to Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series, though that is by no means confirmed.
Regardless, check out the mystical, new trailer for yourself below (via Warner Bros. Games):
