The best thing to come out of video games this year, hands down, has to have been the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. A life-simulator unlike no other, ACNH allows for players to customize their very own island home and gather villagers (anthropomorphic animals) of different walks of life while also being able to visit other players' homes as well as let them visit yours.
As the year has progressed, with all the hardships the world has faced, ACNH has always been able to keep everyone happy by giving us fun holiday festivities to look forward to. From the 4th of July to Christmas, players have experienced some entertaining games and activities that include trick or treating, fireworks, feasting for Thanksgiving, and giving out toys on Christmas.
With New Year's Eve finally here, players will be able to celebrate in style by purchasing some awesome holiday gifts. Gifts such as sparkling, Twelve-grape dish, Berliner, and New Year's noodles! A lot of these items can be found in the seasonal section of the Nook Shopping catalog. There will be other items such as the Aurora Wall and a Midwinter sweater that can be purchased and will be available for the rest of the day!
Will you be there to ring in the new year with your friends and villagers? We would love to hear your thoughts on the event in the comments below, and Happy New Year!
New Horizons is a life simulation game played in real time. The player controls a character who moves to a deserted island after purchasing a deserted island package from Tom Nook, a tanuki character who is a staple of the series. The game proceeds in an open-ended fashion as the player explores the island, and develops it into a community of anthropomorphic animals.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch!
