Atari, alongside developers Mighty Yell and 13AM Games, has launched Missile Command Delta, a bold and retro-futuristic reimagining of the iconic 1980s missile defense arcade game. The title is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, delivering a turn-based strategy experience wrapped in psychological intrigue and Cold War paranoia.

Missile Command Delta retains the core premise of defending cities from missile attacks, but this time the action unfolds through a turn-based strategic lens. Players take on the role of Missile Commander, awakening inside an abandoned Cold War facility filled with dormant technology, sealed chambers, and eerie signs of a forgotten past. Check out the official gameplay trailer down below:

As flickering lights spark to life and ancient supercomputers hum back online, players are thrust into a surreal mission to stop waves of incoming missile threats. Each decision requires careful planning and smart resource management. With a wide array of missile types each offering different blast radii, ranges, and tactical advantages survival becomes a test of both wits and willpower.

But as the campaign unfolds, a greater mystery takes shape: Are you truly defending real cities… or is it all just a simulation?

Missile Command Delta isn’t just about reflexes or high scores it’s about unraveling a chilling narrative. As the bunker’s secrets unravel, players must solve puzzles, interact with complex terminals, and explore branching storylines that challenge the player’s perception of reality.

The game’s single-player campaign is loaded with mystery, suspense, and revelations that slowly peel back the layers of the Cold War-era bunker. Fans of narrative-driven games will find plenty to uncover beneath the strategic surface.

According to Ethan Stearns, VP of Games at Atari:

"Whether players are here for the strategy, the story or the surprises waiting deep in the bunker, we’re thrilled for players to dive in and start uncovering it all for themselves."

Missile Command Delta is available now for:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • Nintendo Switch
  • PC (Steam)

With its retro aesthetic, modern gameplay mechanics, and suspenseful story, Missile Command Delta stands as both a loving homage and a daring reinvention of the classic arcade hit.
