Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics during Gamescom Opening Night Live. The new single-player turn-based tactical game is set in the Rainbow Six universe and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, as well as Ubisoft+, GeForce Now, and Blacknut.

For the first time in the series, players step into the role of Six, the commander of Team Rainbow. From headquarters, players assess intelligence, select operators, upgrade the base of operations, and prepare for missions before deploying squads of up to four operators into the field. Once on site, the game shifts into turn-based tactical encounters that emphasize careful planning, coordinated breaches, and adaptation as situations evolve. Check out the reveal trailer below:

Rainbow Six Tactics unfolds alongside the ongoing Rainbow Six Siege timeline as a new global threat forces the unit to operate on a broader scale. The core loop moves between strategic preparation at HQ and precise execution during missions. Players train operators, review intel, and strengthen Rainbow’s overall capabilities between operations.

The game draws from a roster of 15 operators from Rainbow Six Siege. Each brings unique abilities, specialized gadgets, and individual skill trees, encouraging different squad compositions and playstyles. Missions span dozens of scenarios across varied global locations and include classic Rainbow Six objectives such as hostage rescue, bomb disposal, and target elimination.

Destructible environments play a central role. Players can breach walls to create new lines of sight, eliminate cover, or open alternative entry points. A dedicated Breach feature allows for synchronized assaults that briefly break the turn-based structure, letting the full squad act at once as they storm an area in classic Rainbow Six fashion.

Developed by Ubisoft Paris, Rainbow Six Tactics aims to capture the planning, precision, and teamwork that define the franchise while delivering it through a single-player, turn-based lens. The combination of global strategic decision-making and close-quarters tactical combat offers a different way to experience the operators and systems long associated with Siege.

No exact release date has been announced. The game is available to wishlist now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC storefronts. Further details on the full operator roster, campaign structure, and launch window are expected in the coming months.

With this announcement, Ubisoft is expanding the Rainbow Six universe beyond its competitive multiplayer roots into a focused single-player tactical experience. Players interested in methodical planning and squad-based combat will have a new way to lead Team Rainbow when the game arrives.
