Last year, KOEI Tecmo Games and Gust launched a third-person adventure RPG titled Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout. The game tells the story of a young girl with dreams of escaping her day to day life in search of adventure. As it so happens, the young girl gets precisely what she wished for as she begins to learn the art of alchemy.
Upon release, the original game was a hit, with 420,000 copies shipped so far. Following the impressive numbers, it came as no surprise that a new game would be coming, but the developers wanted to keep some mystery to the reveal.
At about six months since the release of the first game, no word on a new installment had been given, not even a hint! It wasn't until the recent Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner showcase that word was finally given on the upcoming sequel, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy.
While there is still much work to be done before its release later this year, the developers offered a look at the game, which can be seen at the 2:36 mark in the video below. Make sure to check out the new footage, and we would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
