Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has promised players a roster of over 70 playable characters, including fighters that will be added later on as donwloadable content. Not only are Nintendo characters joining the fight, however, since the games have been featuring guest fighters from other popular franchises since
Super Smash Bros. Brawl released on the Wii.
One thing that
Super Smash Bros. creator, Masahrio Sakurai, has said is that the initial character selection screen will only feature the original characters from the very first
Super Smash Bros. game that was released on the Nintendo 64 back in 1999; while the rest of the characters will have to be unlocked.
Some new information has been revealed by Nintendo Life, who were told by a Nintendo spokesperson that unlocking every character in the game will only take but a couple of hours. This is somewhat disappointing news, given that previous entries in the series had players beating difficult challenges in order to unlock these characters.
The good news is that the Nintendo spokesperson also mentioned that every character in
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will have different parameters to be unlocked, meaning that there's still some challenge out there for fans who, well, are looking for a challenge.
Legendary game worlds and fighters collide in the ultimate showdown—a new entry in the Super Smash Bros. series for the Nintendo Switch system! New fighters, like Inkling from the Splatoon series and Ridley from the Metroid series, make their Super Smash Bros. series debut alongside every Super Smash Bros. fighter in the series…EVER!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 7th of December.
