In 2011, Frontwing released The Fruit of Grisaia. A visual novel that, after almost ten years, has released multiple sequels. The series has even branched off into numerous other mediums, including anime.
The franchise found particular success as an anime as well, releasing at least three different series over the years. Each manga series was a success in its own right, and while it didn't get a sequel, each managed to stand on its own as a great series. The most recent series was The Fruit of Grisaia: L'Oiseau bleu in 2014.
The most recent works of the franchise have been Grisaia: Phantom Trigger, which has been both an animation and a couple of video game releases. The animation was released, in 2019, under Bibury Animation Studios, and was directed by Tensho. The games, however, released in 2017 via Steam on PC.
The success of the series on the platform has allowed the games to move to other consoles. In recent news, a trailer was released that reveals, with the help of Prototype, Grisaia: Phantom Trigger 01&02 is coming to the Nintendo Switch!
The trailer shows off a lot of screengrabs and dialogue form the game, that allows fans to see what the visual novel genre is like, for new fans. With this release, hopefully, the Grisaia franchise will continue, with new installments! Make sure to check out the new trailer, and don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments!
