Since its release, in 2012, Smoking WOLF's free indie game, One Way Heroics, has grown from a small idea into a smash hit for fans of the JRPG genre. The game takes the simple premise of exploring dimensions, fighting monsters, gathering weapons, tools, items, and gears but adds the added pressure of having a fog of death that chases you through the entirety of the game!
After the original release, One Way Heroics has had multiple iterations of the PC classic released. In 2014, the game saw an official Steam release by Playism. The following year was nothing short of an explosion for the game as it entered multiple different platforms.
With the Spike Chunsoft release of the One Way Heroics Plus expansion, the game was able to hop platforms finally! Playstation 4 and Vita were able to have fans experience the game as a tie in to the Mystery Dungeon franchise, in Japan, titled Mystery Chronicle: I Won't Look Back Until I Win. The game had Yuichiro Saito and Yoshinori Terasawa as producers.
When 2016 arrived, Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics made its way to the Playstation 4 and Vita, over in North America. This was the last release that the game has had on any console; until now. Recently, a brand new trailer was released, announcing that One Way Heroics Plus would be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in Japan and North America!
The Playism released game is sure to bring many players back to the beloved game. Could this mean more games within the franchise? We would love to hear your thoughts in the usual spot!
