A few days ago, we reported that
Out Run was coming to the Nintendo Switch as part of the Sega Ages series. Sega has already released the original
Sonic the Hedgehog and
Lightening Force: Quest for Darkstar on the Nintendo Switch, and has planned a few more releases in the coming months.
Out Run for the Nintendo Switch was announced for Japan but the official Sega Japan Twitter account did not mention a specific release date for the game, much less a North American release date; although we did know that the Japanese version would be releasing at some point this year, with the North American release coming out early in 2019.
Today, we have new information regarding Sega Ages'
Out Run for the Nintendo Switch, and the game will be officially coming out in Japan on the
29th of November. Given that this information was shared on the Japanese Twitter account, we still don't have an official release date for the North American release , so we'll have to keep waiting for any announcements, although it is very likely that the game will end up releasing in January. Let's just keep our fingers crossed.
Keep an eye out as we announce more quality classic ports coming to Switch like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Out Run, Space Harrier, Columns II and Thunder Force AC, and of course, Phantasy Star.
Out Run will be available for the Nintendo Switch in early 2019.
