Ten years before the release of its fourth installment, Shin Megami Tensei was introduced to the world of the Playstation 2 with Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. Following up from its previous installment, which crossed multiple platforms, including the original Playstation, this new game brought players back to a post-apocalyptic world, taking control of a new character.
The third game, much like its predecessors, was met with high praise and was the last mainline game in the series to be on a console for almost 20 years, until the release of Shin Megami Tensei V on the Nintendo Switch. Fans loved this title so much, in fact, that the following year saw a director's cut of the game release and a Chronicle Edition of the director's cut release four years after that!
As the franchise begins to have new life breathed into it, Atlus found that there was no better place to announce the brand new HD Remaster than at the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. With a brand new trailer, the world was introduced to the upcoming title Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster!
The new game brings a promise that Atlus has big plans for the franchise and who knows what could come in the future. Make sure to check out the new trailer, and don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments below!
In Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, the player takes on the role of a young boy who is caught up in the apocalypse while visiting his sick teacher, Yuko Takao, with his two classmates Chiaki Hayasaka and Isamu Nitta.
Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster will release on the Nintendo Switch in the Spring of 2021!
