Moonlighter is an action RPG with rogue-lite elements that shines a light on the daily adventures of Will, an devoted shopkeeper who secretly dreams of becoming a hero.
The Legend of Zelda-inspired title also allows you to run a store. It may not sound too exciting, but the devil's in the detail, as Will has to explore dark dungeons to grab the necessary loot he can later sell.
Moonlighter can be described as a child of
The Legend of Zelda games and Supergiant Games'
Bastion. The core gaming loop forces you to go down to the dungeon to kill mobs allowing you to stock your shop with their goodies. Returning to town can be achieved in three ways: beating the boss, spending a relatively nominal fee to take a one-way trip back, or spending a large fee to open a portal back.
The critically acclaimed action RPG with rogue-lite elements currently sits at a respectable 81% on Metacritic (PS4), making it one of the best-reviewed indie titles in a while. 11 bit studio has officially announced that
Moonlighter will finally launch on Nintendo Switch on November 5, 2018, joining the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC family. Be sure to check out the latest trailer down below:
