According to a new GameStop Germany listing,
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch, as the title launched last year for Xbox One on PlayStation 4. As revealed in the listing, the Switch port will launch on August 16, 2019, about nine months after its initial debut on November 13, 2018.
The
Trilogy contains
Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and
Spyro: Year of the Dragon, three classics that debuted on Sony's PlayStation. Unfortunately, you need to download the sequel and threequel to play them on your console as only the first game is featured on disc. That's a major problem no matter how you look at it, so there's hope Activision will fix that issue in the Switch port.
Given that even the Nintendo Switch version of the
N. Sane Trilogy comes in one single cartridge, which are definitely more expensive to produce than a Blu-ray disc, releasing all three games in one package would definitely make a lot of fans of the purple dragon more than happy. At the time of writing, Activision had not revealed any official plans to bring
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy to the Switch.
Spyro has been unleashed! He’s all scaled up and ready to flare up some bad guys in Spyro Reignited Trilogy, a dynamic gaming collection that’s going to have fans “Spyro-ing” out of control on Sept. 21. In Spyro Reignited Trilogy, gliding to new heights, unleashing fire-breathing attacks, and exploring lush environments is more fun in HD graphical glory on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and the family of Xbox One devices from Microsoft, including the Xbox One X. Spyro Reignited Trilogy introduces players to a fully remastered game collection of the three original Spyro™ games that started the phenomenon: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One NOW!
