During last year's The Game Awards show, developer BonusXP revealed that they were working on a Stranger Things video game, which would be based on the third season of the acclaimed Netflix show.

The game in question would simply be titled Stranger Things 3: The Game, and features an isometric style of gameplay mixed with some retro 16-Bit art style that will likely make some old-school players think of the classic Super Nintendo game "Zombies Ate My Neighbors".

During today's Nindies presentation, Nintendo's showcase of titles developed by indie studios, we got another trailer for Stranger Things 3: The Game, as well as an official release date, which schedules the game to release on the 4th of July; the very same day Season 3 of the show premiers.

While it is likely that Stranger Things 3: The Game will be released for other platforms other than the Nintendo Switch, BonusXP has not yet revealed that kind of information so we'll have to keep waiting for more official announcements from the developer.

Take a look:

Developed and published by BonusXP in collaboration with Netflix, Stranger Things 3: The Game is the official companion game to Season 3 of the hit original series.

Stranger Things 3: The Game will release for the Nintendo Switch on the 4th of July.
