Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is the sequel/spinoff to the brilliant hack and slash
No More Heroes series created by Goichi Suda and developed by Grashopper Manufacture.
When the game was announced during the PAX West event in 2017, it was supposed to come out at some point in 2018 but information on the project is, even to this day, pretty scarce. A few days ago, we found out that
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes had finally been given an official release date, and the game will finally become available, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, on the
18th of January, but there seems to be a little bit more behind the delay.
In a recent interview with Destructoid, Goichi Suda explained the real reason behind
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes' delay, and it actually makes a lot of sense.
"
So, as you know, Super Smash Bros. is coming out in December. I'd feel really bad about impacting their sales negatively. I'll give them a break and move it over into next year", replied Suda when asked about the
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes delay.
Anyone familiar with Goichi Suda knows the man is obviously joking, but there is some true to what he's saying.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is a Nintendo Switch console exclusive, and
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the biggest first party title coming out for Nintendo's handheld hybrid this year, so it does make a lot of sense to have Grasshopper Manufacture pushing the game back to January—especially when going up against such heavy hitter like
Super Smash Bros.
Get ready to wander into the game world and embark on a rampage of epic proportions when Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
