There have been many Legendary and Mythical Pokémon integrated into the franchise over the generations, and sometimes these creatures show up in conjunction with a special event of sorts. Such is the case with the newest Mythical creature to grace Trainers with its presence - the Rogue Monkey Pokémon Zarude - as it was announced yesterday during the annual Pokémon Day.
Zarude is a dual-type Mythical Pokémon and it masters both Grass and Dark types. Unlike Rillaboom, the other grass monkey in
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield, Zarude seems to be a frightening creature of sorts. With a mastery of vines this creature is said to live deep in the forest in a pack and will viciously attack anyone that isn't a part of its group causing other creatures in its vicinity to be terrified of it.
It is said that Zarude uses its mastery of vines for more than fighting as it also utilizes them to swing through trees, reach berries for consumption, and even heal its wounds. While we don't currently have the details of how to obtain this new creature, it has been announced that it will not be obtainable through normal gameplay. You can be certain that we'll update you as soon as we learn more.
In the meantime, check out the reveal trailer for the Dark and Grass-Type Mythical Pokémon, Zarude.
Mythical Pokémon discovered! We’ve confirmed the existence of Zarude, the Rogue Monkey Pokémon. When fighting, it swings around using trees and their branches, attacking relentlessly with its sharp claws or any other means it has. Its quick wit helps it excel in battles.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are currently available for Nintendo Switch.
