Super Smash Bros. Ultimate news simply won't stop any time soon, especially now that the game has been doing as well as it has since it launched like Friday. Even before the game was officially released, it had already managed to become the
best pre-selling title on the Nintendo Switch, as wel las the best pre-selling title in the Super Smash Bros. series.
Only last week, and on the same day the game launched, we found out that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had become the best-selling video game on Amazon; even managing to beat out PlayStation Store Gift Cards, which are usually the best selling items on the video game section.
Nintendo's long-awaited crossover fighting game also broke sales records in the united Kingdom, as a recent report by GamesIndustry revealed that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had just become the fastest-selling title in the history of the Super Smash Bros. series.
To top it all off, a preliminar report by Famitsu revealed that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has managed to sell a smashing 1.3 million copies in Japan. To put things into perspective,
Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu/Eevee!, one of the most popular titles in Japan, sold 552 thousand units on release; with
Super Mario Odyssey—arguably the most anticipated game on the Switch in 2017—managing to sell 514 thousand units upon its release.
Things are looking great for
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, deemed the biggest crossover fighting game in history, and with the Holidays just around the corner the number in sales can only go up from now on. This is only a preliminary report so the official number of sales should be a lot higher; especially considering that this only considered sales in Japan—where it's expected that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sells 10 million copies by early 2019.
