Super Mario Maker 2 has been available for the Nintendo Switch since June. Nintendo continues to support the creative side-scroller months later. Recently, a brand new update was announced which will be implemented on December 5th. This update will introduce an exciting variety of course parts, an official mode for speedrunning levels, and the Master Sword as a power-up.
The Master Sword is best recognised as the weapon of choice which features in the
Legend of Zelda game series. What happens when you pick up the Master Sword in
Super Mario Maker 2? Well, your playable character will completely transform into Link. In this form, you'll be able to slash down enemies and destroy certain building blocks with a bomb — not to mention, many more feats.
Ninji Speedruns is a new mode which will allow players to compete for the fastest completion time against other players. However, the other players won't physically be in the game with you but rather represented by a flurry of Ninji — similar to ghost players in racing games.
Nintendo has released an official video via Twitter which shows off all of the exciting, new course parts and modes in action. Check it out below (via
