This year's Blizzcon will probably go down as one of the worst events ever for Blizzard and fans of the Diablo series as a whole. The reason for this is mainly because of the developer not announcing the long-awaited
Diablo 4, but there's a bit more to it.
For anyone not aware of the whole debacle; Blizzard announced a
Diablo Immortal as a brand-new
Diablo game during the Blizzard convention, the problem is that this game was treated as Blizzcon's main event, and it turned out to be a mobile game; which did not bode well with fans at all.
Thankfully, Blizzard seems to be listening to fans now, as they have recently stated that they're using all of the criticism that they have been getting as of late as feedback; and the developer also confirms that more
Diablo-related projects are to be announced in 2019; so there is still hope for that
Diablo 4 announcement that fans have been clamouring for.
The statement released by Blizzard reads as follows:
We continue to read feedback and our internal discussions are ongoing. We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we’ll be revealing over the course of the coming year. We are eager to share more about all of our projects, but some will have to wait as we prefer to show you, rather than tell you, about them. It’s going to take some time as we strive to meet your expectations, but now, more than ever, we are committed to delivering Diablo experiences the community can be proud of.
