Renowned game director Hideo Kojima has taken to Twitter to share a cryptic teaser image that is believed to be hinting at a new game.
Best-known for creating the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Kojima went on to develop Death Stranding which starred an all-star cast, including the likes of Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, and Margaret Qualley.
In the interim between his final instalment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise and Death Stranding, Kojima also took a stint on the Silent Hill franchise. However, after a falling out with Konami, that game would never see the light of day.
This new teaser image is certainly haunting and quite evocative of the Silent Hill atmosphere. More than likely, though, the image relates to a follow-up to Death Stranding — or even a new game altogether.
Last year, Kojima shared a photo from a sound stage which featured Reedus, the star of Death Stranding. Though, Kojima has suggested that his studio, Kojima Productions, was working on two projects simultaneously.
This new teaser image appears to be a faceless female, the same one that The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley shared last month, and analytical fans quickly discovered is likely actress Elle Fanning.
"The answer to “WHO” at TGS will be in the next “WHERE”," reads Kojima's tweet (@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN). It's quite cryptic but it most likely means that whoever this faceless person is will feature at a forthcoming event, and that event is likely The Game Awards which will be taking place in December.
