It's that time of the year when most of the leaks seem to be either getting confirmed, or completely revoked by the developers—the E3's eve. This time it's
Hitman's turn to be getting a major leak ahead of its official debut.
Today, IO Interactive teased that a new
Hitman-related announcement was underway by sharing a post on the verified Hitman Twitter account that hinted at Agent 47's next mission but the access was denied until the 7th of June. Later today, WB Games shared a very cryptic post on Twitter teasing that they would have a Live reveal on Thursday the 7th of June, but didn't say what they were actually going to reveal, although putting 2 and 2 together wasn't really that hard.
Fans on Twitter were quick to conclude that this was all related to a
Hitman reveal that may end up being Season 2 of content for the game. But in the eve of the E3, anything can happen and revealing a new Season right ahead of the E3 would be like shooting yourself in the foot, so they were probably hinting and something bigger.
It seems that speculation time is over now that a new leak seemingly confirms that
Hitman 2is the title that WB Games and the Hitman Twitter accounts were teasing. The news comes from a post on
Resetera, and reported by
DualShockers, where user "Luna" shared the
Hitman 2 logo from the official Warner Bros. Games site. The shared link is no longer available but it did indeed come from the WB Games site and the fact that it was deleted pretty much confirms that a brand new game is being announced on Thursday—if not sooner after the leak.
