2015 was a great year for video games and for the most part all of them lived up to the hype. Everyone at GameFragger took our 2015 most anticipated list and rank them in all of their glory.

Lets start with the games we had high hopes for in 2015 and won't see till 2016. Sadly Uncharted 4, Tom Clancy's Division, The Legend of Zelda and Star Fox WiiU didn't make it to 2015. For the sake of hype, we will rank the unrankable... if that even makes sense.

4.Star Fox Wii U:

We just haven't seen enough of Star Fox to really get excited for this game. Hopefully, in 2016 we will see why Star Fox can make a big comeback.

3.The Legend of Zelda:

The big open world that the Legend of Zelda offers is amazing. This is another game that we haven't seen much from, but has a bunch of potential. There are a lot of new things in store for Link and company, but for the most part we will have to wait and see what they are.

2.Uncharted 4:

Nathan Drake decided not to grace us with his presence in 2015, but this will certainly be one of the top rated games for 2016. Recently this game got pushed again, but only to April, 2016.

1.Tom Clancy’s Division:

This is TH3KILLA77's most anticipated game of 2016 so far. His jaw spent most the time on the floor. From what we've seen from the trailers, this game is going to be one epic ride!

Now we break into all the awesomeness we did see in 2015. 2015 was a year of great games and games the failed to live up to the hype. There are even some pleasant surprises in the top 5 of our list.

12. Star Wars Battlefront:

We all wanted this game to be the bees knees... the best Star Wars game since Star Wars Shadows of the Empire on N64 (in our humble opinion), but if failed to do so. Don't get us wrong the graphics are stunning and it fun to play, but there are flaws. Rebels spawning right in front of 10,000 imperial soldiers ring a bell?

Not to mention there is no campaign or voice chat to co-ordinate with other players. This is especially frustrating during 40 player events.

11. Battlefield Hardline:

Battlefield: Hardline

Battlefield Hardline was an intriguing, but it fizzled out just as fast as it came in. The game has the same feel as other Battlefields, which can be fun for the hardcore Battlefield games, but if you don't like Battlefield 3 or 4. This game isn't for you.

10. Dying Light:

This is a game obviously. . . is about avoiding and killing zombies. This part of the game is tremendous fun and is very enjoyable, but there are some flaws. Some of the story missions are more of a pain in the arse than fun. They put you in direct conflict when your character is only equipped to run and kill menial zombies. There are many mixed feelings about the game. Overall its fun, but there is room for improvement.

9. Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Siege:

This game is really really fun, but its launch was riddled with server problems that made it nearly impossible to play with a group. Siege also has a semi-campaign that takes you through different scenarios, but even that is underwhelming. The game shines in PvP. It is also kind of annoying that while laying down your legs go through walls and the enemy can walk up to you and kill you. This game is wildly fun if you have 6-10 people to play with. Even the PvP has its moments of greatness, but it messed up when it comes to matching you with people of similar skill.

8. Mortal Kombat X:

Mortal Kombat X

If anyone tells you that there is a better Mortal Kombat out there, they're lying. Without living too much in the past Mortal Kombat introduces a plethora of new mechanics and characters. This is the smoothest fighting game to date and won't let you down if you are into the genre.

7. Batman Arkham Knight:

With a great cast of voices behind the game and an overall fun and appealing open world Batman Arkham Knight doesn't disappoint. Rumors have it that this won't be the last time we see Batman in a Rocksteady game, but if it is. It ends no a high note with an awesome story line and diverse cast of characters and villains.

6. Halo 5: Guardians:

The so-so campaign is overshadowed by the awesome PvP modes. The Halo parties we all knew and loved are back. . . providing you have separate TV's for everyone. Warzone is great for PvP, but don't worry those pesky AI combatants will drop in and wreck the party for everyone.

5.Super Mario Maker:

Super Mario Maker is childhood nostalgia returning at a great pace! If you have a WiiU and don't have this game, SHAME ON YOU! Building and rebuilding various levels provides hours of fun. Challenge yours friends and see if they can beat your best times.

4. Evolve:

Evolve #7

This is a new entry into the PvP genre. You along with 4 other hunters are tasked by tracking down another players monster. Don't wait to long, however, the more powerful an opponents monster gets the worse off you are.

3. Rise of the Tomb Raider:

Rise of the Tomb Raider

This is the most fun anyone will have with Lara Croft since 96. The beautiful areas mixed with puzzles and firefights are just what the game needs. This time around Lara Croft is a little different. She isn't the sad island stricken person with broken bones. This time she is a seasoned veteran of conflict that is a master at inflicting pain. She is in the quest for a relic and no one can stop her.

2. Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain:

Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain

The game shines with its open sandbox world that allows anyone who enters the game the freedom to accomplish mission goals the way they want to accomplish them. They give you an objective and the rest is up to you. The game caters to the vast different play styles. From guns a blazing to super stealth. Get it done... no matter what.

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

This is truely a well thought out master piece that takes up a LOT of time. There are so many detailed side missions alone to entertain you for hours. Players can blast through the story or discover what the open world has for them. This was the game that lived up to all of the hype. Geralt of Rivia is faced with decisions throughout and the story line is a great one. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a game that everyone should own. The trailer below is everything you need to know.
