The hacker group Lizard Squad have launched new attacks on Xbox Live and Daybreak Games, formerly known as Sony Online Entertainment. On friday the Lizard Squad were able to bring down the Zombie survival game H1Z1, but it wasn't the only online game affected with connectivity issues. The Lizard Squad later tweeted the following “H1Z1 #offline.”
Early Monday morning, Lizard Squad announced on Twitter that its latest target would be Xbox Live, later tweeting “Xbox (360) Live #offline”. Players are now having to deal with the same connectivity issues and have reported not being able to access their friends list. This won't be the last time that we hear from the Lizard Squad.
The group uses what is called a distributed denial of service or (DDoS). They love attacking Microsoft and Sony even more. They even claimed responsibility for contacting American Airlines with a bomb threat on a plane. John Smedley, the president of Sony Online Entertainment (now DayBreak Games) was on that airplane.
In January, UK police arrested two men in connection with Lizard Squad’s Christmas day attacks on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live – an 18-year-old from Southport and a 22-year-old from Twickenham.
