In September of last year, Square Enix and Marvel Comics announced that they were partnering up to publish an Iron Man comicbook that would tie in with Crystal Dynamic's highly anticipated
Marvel's Avengers. While they didn't announce that more characters would get a tie-in comicbook too, it was somewhat assumed.
As it turns out, Iron Man isn't the only character that was getting a tie-in comicbook, as today hs become available
Marvel's Avengers Thor #1, which — much like the Iron Man comicbook that released in December — is a prequel that leads into the events of A-Day.
Marvel's Avengers will finally become available in May of this year, and if Iron Man got his comicbook in December, and Thor just got a tie-in comicbook of his own today, it is safe to assume that Marvel Comics will be giving Black Widow, the Hulk, and Captain America their own tie-in comicbook prequels in the coming months.
Marvel Games also shared the cover artwork for
Marvel's Avengers Thor #1, as well as its respective variant covers, so be sure to check them out down below and let us know what you think about them.
Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Marvel's Avengers will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on the 15th of May in 2020.
