Nintendo Restores Faith In Humanity By Officially Shooting Down "Bowsette" As Canon

"Bowsette" is arguably one of the most out-of-nowhere fads of last year, and Nintendo has recently made it clear that it is not — and will likely never be — canon.

Last year Nintendo revealed that they would be porting New Super Mario Bros. U to the Nintendo Switch, getting the Deluxe treatment in the same fashion of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The original New Super Mario Bros. U was released for the Wii U back in 2012 as a launch title for the failed Nintendo console.

One of the new features that New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe was getting, was Toadette as a new playable character and a new called Super Crown, which allows Toadette to turn into Peachette — who is a character very similar to Peach
in appearance and abilities. That's when the whole Bowsette fad started as fans began to picture Bowser wearing the Super Crown item and turning into Bowsette.

Well, Nintendo has finally restored faith in humanity by officially shooting down Bowsette as canon; making it very clear that the fan-made character is not — and will likely never be — canon. The information is on Nintendo's official site for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which has a list of all the items that players can use in the game; each with its respective description.

The new Super Crown item is, according to Nintendo, an item that can be used by Toadette and allows her to transform in to the super-powered Peachette adding that only she can use this item. Long story short, Bowsette is no more.
