Goichi Suda and Hidetaka Suehiro, who most people actually know as Suda51 and Swery65, have recently revealed that they have partnered up and are currently working on
Hotel Barcelona — which they have described as a horror game; news that fans of both creators will probably be excited to hear.
The news comes from
IGN Japan, where both developers revealed their plans to make this horror game a "light and easy to play" title that could easily be picked up on mobile devices, which could probably mean the game's demographic might be suited for Nintendo Switch owners and Google Stadia subscribers.
While the game is called
Hotel Barcelona, Suda revealed that the game is more likely to take place in Tokyo or other cities in South Africa, or even in Venezuela. None of this is final, as they seem to be in very, very early stages of development.
It doesn't stop there, however, as things get way more interesting when Suda and Suehiro begin describing the game's concept, which is expected to be developed to an indie budget, and that they have already had discussions with Devolver Digital to help them publish the
Hotel Barcelona.
According to the interview with IGN Japan, the
No More Heroes and
Deadly Premonition series creators have toyed around with the idea of having the player take the role of several characters in the hotel; from visitors to hotel employees. The creators want an entirely evil character, which will take players out of their comfort zone and have them do things they wouldn't want to do.
Again, none of this is final, but it does sound like a game that only Goichi Suda and Hidetaka Suehiro could come up with. It will be definitely intertesting to hear more about this new horror game.
