PlatinumGames' Hideki Kamiya Offers Update On BAYONETTA 3; The Game Has Not Been Cancelled

It's been quite a long time since we've heard anything about Bayonetta 3 , and PlatinumGames' Hideki Kamiya reassures players that the game has not been cancelled.

Bayonetta 3 was announced during the E3 even all the way back in 2017, and it was revealed to be a Nintendo Switch exclusive game developed by PlatinumGames, so every one was excited considering how great both previous entries were.

However, after the game was officially announcemed, little to no new information was revealed. As a matter of fact, it's been almost 3 years since the game was announced and we haven't even seen another teaser trailer for the Bayonetta 3.

PlatinumGames' Hideki Kamiya has mentioned that they are still working on the game, but other than the sporadic updates, we still don't really know much about the game, or the state of the project itself; all we know is that it exists.

The lack of news about Bayonetta 3 has led some fans of the series to believe that the project may have been silently cancelled — even when this is highly unlikely considering that Nintendo is still publishing the game. For those who may still be worried about the game's cancellation we have some good news.

In a recent interview with Video Games Chronicle, PlatinumGames' Hideki Kamiya has confirmed that not only Bayonetta 3 hasn't been cancelled, but also that they are still working hard to deliver a top quality product; encouraging fans to keep looking forward to it.

"I'm on Twitter so I see a lot of comments every day. I'm happy that there's still anticipation for the title, but one thing I would like to address is the trend I'm seeing which is people who are starting to ask if the game has been cancelled," explained Kamiya when asked if he was bored of having people asking him about Bayonetta 3.

"I want you guys to take any concerns you have like that and throw them out the window immediately because we’re still hard at work on it and it hasn’t been cancelled by any means. Please look forward to it!"

It is still unknown whether Nintendo will release a Nintendo Direct presentation in June of this year — at the time other developers will be revealing upcoming projects — but if they do, there's still the chance that Bayonetta 3 will finally get a proper teaser, a fully fledged trailer, or even an official release date.

Whatever the case, it is great news to know that PlatinumGames are still working on Bayonetta 3 and, more importantly, that the game hasn't been cancelled at all.

Bayonetta 3 is currently in development exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
