There's a rumour that has been doing the rounds lately, which seems to suggest that a brand-new entry in the
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series may currently be in the works.
As if that wasn't enough, the rumour also claims that Activision could alredy be working on remade versions of the first two entries in the
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series released in the late 90s and early 2000s.
First things first, the rumour comes from Twitter user
@New_WabiSabi, known for accurately leaking information about the video game industry, who got word from one of his sources at Activision. According to the source, the developer had remade prototypes of
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.
What's even more interesting is the fact that a brand-new
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater title has been seemingly confirmed by profesional skater Lizzie Armanto in a recent interview with
The Nine Club's podcast, where she was asked about her appearane in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5; where she accidentally revealed that "
he's[Tony Hawk] coming out with another one, and I'll be in that too."
To add credibility to the rumour, the bit in which Armanto accidentally reveals that a new
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game is in the works has been edited out of the podcast; seemingly confirming that a game is, indeed, in the works.
The
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series has had its ups and downs over the years, but there is one thing that every one who has played one of the games in the series can agree on; they set the bar very high for skating video games.
While skateboarding games aficionados have also had great titles like Electronic Arts'
Skate series, it was
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater the game that began setting trends, and it would be nice to see it making a comeback.
