Yves Guillemot, who is Ubisoft's Co-founder and CEO, recently sat down to answer some questions by gamers during this year's E3 in Los Angeles. He actually had a lot to share, even though these questions may have been cherrypicked for him and not actually recorded on the spot.
Wasting absolutely no time, Yves Guillemot briefly comments on
Beyond Good and Evil 2 and how he expects the game to be one of Ubisoft's biggest projects ever—as he believes the team behind the game is fully capable of making the title the best game ever made.
When asked whether there is a new
Splinter Cell game in the works, Guillemot certainly plays coy but does give players some hope. He mentions that they've heard that question a lot but they still have nothing to announce—while also saying that they've heard fans
loud and clear, and that they know players like that brand.
Guillemot explains a bit about him saying that this could be the last console cycle but not the end of gaming. What he really meant was that he believes that users will likely be able to stream games to TVs and mobile devices instead of actually having the need to purchase a console.
He was also asked about their recent collaborations with Nintendo delivering titles like
Mario + Rabbinds: Kingdom Battle, and
adding Star Fox in Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Guillemot explains that Ubisoft and Nintendo have a strong relationship since they have done many things together in the past and both sides are always excited to collaborate—teasing that he hopes they are able to surprise fans with new collaborations in the future.
