A unique but very of its time action shooter released in 2002 titled BloodRayne. The game followed Rayne; a vampire tasked to combat creatures of supernatural origin, as well as Nazis. Upon release, the success of the first game spawned a sequel, BloodRayne 2, which continued the adventures of Rayne.
Sadly, it was from that point on that the series struggled to get off the ground again with another main console title. The difficulties were compounded after the critical failure of the 2006 film adaption that shared the same name. Since then, times have looked pretty dire for the franchise, however, that may be changing sooner rather than later.
Thanks to the developers at Ziggurat Interactive, BloodRayne is gearing up to make a triumphant return by recognizing the past. BloodRayne: Terminal Cut (or Terminal Reality) is the latest in the checklist of classic 80s and 90s titles that Ziggurat Interactive wants to bring back to the public eye. Remastered and enhanced, the two games in the franchise look better than ever and plan to bring new fans to the property thanks to its release on the Steam platform later this month!
A new trailer for both games has also started streaming and show off just how clean the enhanced versions look. Make sure to check them out, and don't forget to share your thoughts on it in the comments below!
Set in 1933 and 1938, just before World War II. As an agent of the Brimstone Society, Rayne is sent to a variety of locations (a small swamp town in Louisiana, a Nazi fortress in Argentina, and an ancient castle in Germany) to battle supernatural creatures as well as the Nazi army.
Bloodrayne: Terminal Cut & BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut will arrive on Steam on November 20th!
