During the Gearbox PAX Digital Showcase this weekend, Counterplay Games and Gearbox Publishing offered fans a a new look at gameplay as well as pre-order and pricing details for the PC version of the action RPG.
Three different editions of Godfall will be sold through the Epic Games Store on PC: the Standard ($59.99), which includes the base game only; the Deluxe Edition ($79.99), which also inclues Expansion 1; and the Ascended Edition ($89.99), which adds Ascended Digital Cosmetic Contents. All pre-orders through the Epic Games STore will also include a Starter Pack featuring early equipment Augments and Trinkets; Chrome Silvermane, Phoenix and Greyhawk skin cosmetic variants; a yellow Typhon variant; and, for the Borderlands fans, Zer0’s sword to hack and slash through Aperion.
Unfortunately, no details were shared regarding the launch details of PlayStation 5 version of the game, but Sony is hosting a special livestream this week focused on the next-gen console, so it's possible we could see more of Godfall there as well. Additionally, assets for the pre-order tiers and bonuses shared by Gearbox also featured images of the PlayStation 5 editions and it looks to be similar.
In the meantime, check out the new gameplay trailer revealed during PAX. The trailer offers our best look yet at th fast-paced melee combat of Godfall, putting an emphasis on exploiting your enemies' weak points. It also features a sneak peek at the Aegishorn Valorplate, one of the game's armor sets.
Aperion is on the precipice of ruin. You are the last of the Valorian knights, god-like warriors able to equip Valorplates, legendary armor sets that transform wielders into unstoppable masters of melee combat. Tear through foes as you climb through the elemental realms and challenge the mad god, Macros who awaits you at the top. Ascend in Godfall, the first-of-its-kind, looter-slasher, melee action-RPG.
Godfall still maintains its Holiday 2020 launch window for PC and PlayStation 5. Hopefully, we get a more specific date this week.
