Many players would love to return to the original
WarCraft universe. While millions of fans play
World of WarCraft on daily basis, it would be nice to finally return to the series RTS roots. Three months ago, Blizzard released a new patch for the cult classic
WarCraft III that intercede the widesreen mode, increased object limit to 30,000 and included a wide variety of smaller features and improvements.
Sadly, it looks like a
WarCraft IV announcement won't happen anytime soon, but Blizzard seemingly has some plans for the 16-year-old RTS. Blizzard Entertainment is making something new for
WarCraft III. We don’t know exactly what it’ll be, but a job posting on the studio’s site is seeking "
an enthusiastic senior gameplay engineer to be a key contributor for Warcraft III and other classics. We’re looking for passionate players of RTS or the genres it unlocked." Blizzard is looking for contributors that have experience in several of the following areas: combat, AI, multiplayer, pathing, or related game systems.
This designer will work closely with Blizzard and the community. What's the most interesting, Blizzard is looking for someone who will "
help create epic features and bring about a balance that will keep players engaged for years to come." Considering that the game's online community is still alive thanks to the Battle.Net structure, we may be looking at the first glimpses of a possible
WarCraft III remaster.
