Leaked Blizzard Survey Reveals Bold Potential Features for the Future of WoW Classic
Blizzard appears to be gauging community interest for the next chapter of World of Warcraft Classic, and a newly leaked survey offers fans a surprising look at what may be in store. From cross-realm guilds and player housing to new classes and reworked systems, the survey explores bold new directions for the iconic MMO’s Classic experience.
While nothing is confirmed to be in development, Blizzard is using the survey to collect feedback that could shape a hypothetical new version of WoW Classic. Sent to select players, the survey asks what features they would or wouldn’t like to see and what version of WoW they’re planning to play after the conclusion of Mists of Pandaria Classic.

According to screenshots shared on Reddit by WoW player Chrslp, Blizzard’s survey lays out an extensive list of potential additions, some of which would be unprecedented for Classic. Here is a look at the post:
The full written list of the changes include:
- Playable Shamans on the Alliance side
- Playable Paladins on the Horde side
- New class never before seen in WoW
- New race/class combinations
- Playable High Elves for both factions
- Player housing (instanced homes for players and guilds)
- Cross-realm guilds
- 1v1 dueling arenas with spectator options
- Brand-new zones added to Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms
- New 10-, 20-, and 40-player raid content
- New Battlegrounds
- Pet battles and account-wide collections
- Transmogrification (visible in safe zones only)
- Achievements system
- Honor system redesigns
- War Mode toggle for world PvP
- New class abilities and streamlined talent trees
- Graphical improvements including lighting, textures, and reflections
- New tradeskills and profession improvements
- In-game seasonal events and account progression systems
- Modernized character models and UI elements
One standout suggestion involves collections, allowing pets, mounts, and toys to be stored account-wide and accessible across all characters. Another idea proposes a fully redesigned honor reward system, decoupling rewards from fixed caps in favor of seasonal updates that match PvE raid tiers.
Blizzard is also exploring ways to keep players engaged with alternative progression systems, such as account-wide perks for completing goals on alts, and expanding zone access to locations like Mount Hyjal or Uldum areas long known to fans but never fully explorable before in Classic.
Among the survey’s final questions, Blizzard directly asks players what version of World of Warcraft they expect to stick with after MoP Classic ends. Choices include:
- Classic Era (Vanilla-style servers)
- Other Classic expansions (like WotLK or potentially Warlords of Draenor)
- Retail WoW
- Permanently frozen MoP Classic servers
- Or leaving the game altogether
At the moment, this is only a survey Blizzard has not confirmed any of the listed features for development. Still, the breadth of content suggests that the studio is seriously considering major innovation within the Classic framework. The responses could help define the future of WoW Classic as it moves beyond its original boundaries.
With the Midnight expansion and retail updates also on the horizon, the road ahead for World of Warcraft is clearly being shaped in part by community voice. Whether or not all these features make the cut, it’s clear Blizzard is listening and testing the waters for what could be the boldest evolution of Classic yet.
