After the success of the remastered Battlezone, originally released in 1998 by Activision, Rebellion has announced that the remastered sequel, Battlezone: Combat Commander, will be released on March 1st for PC via Steam and GOG.
According to BattlezoneCC, Fans of the classic title can enjoy updated art and visual effects, DirectX 11 rendering and shading, and 4k resolution support. Steam reports that Battlezone: Combat Commander will have online multiplayer between Steam and GOG, as well as support for online and LAN multiplayer, new acheivements, cloud saves (Steam only) and even support for Combat Commander's more than twenty-year-old modding scene.
If that isn't awesome enough, BattlezoneCC also says there will be a "much larger beta event" happening later this month. You'll have to keep your eyes out for more on that in the near future, as the exact date for that has yet to be announced.
