Deep Silver will publish King Art Games'
Iron Harvest. The upcoming real-time strategy game is set in an alternate timeline, in which huge steampunk mechs are fighting next to the regular infantry in Europe. King Art Games' new title takes place in the world of 1920+, where mankind, fascinated by technology, engines, and iron, invented powerful walking machines that are now part of everyday life.
"
Over a dozen publishers have voiced interest in publishing Iron Harvest. We spoke to everyone and entered negotiations with a handful. In the end, we have partnered with the publisher we think is the perfect fit for Iron Harvest: Deep Silver," King Art Games has officially announced.
Deep Silver is a wholly owned subsidiary of THQ Nordic, known best for publishing big-budget titles like
Metro: Exodus, Saints Row The Third and
Dead Island while still being able to support smaller teams and their sleeper hits, including
Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Wasteland 2 and
Pathfinder: Kingmaker.
According to the Polish studio, they "
will retain total creative control. Deep Silver have also committed themselves to help with things like production, first party relations e.g. so we can concentrate to fulfill all of our promises towards you," the developer explained. "
We both agree that Iron Harvest is a great opportunity to make a mark on the RTS genre and to release something special. We’re super happy to have found a team that is so committed to the project!"
Iron Harvest will feature not only a proper single-player campaign, but also a variety of multiplayer modes, including cult classic skirmish. While
Harvest has been announced a good while ago, it's still unclear what it actually launches, but it's still coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Check it out below:
You lead hero characters, mechs, and soldiers into battle. Cover mechanics and dynamic destruction play a major role in combat. Your squads take cover automatically, but a simple brick wall will only offer protection against small calibers, not against mech-mounted cannons. Throughout its open sandbox levels you have to find your own way to reach the goals set by the dynamic story line.
Iron Harvest is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (GOG) in 2019.
