Maxis has announced the opening of a new closed beta for its upcoming online action RPG Darkspore. The game will be available to PC gamers towards the end of April. Eager gamers can experience the game early jumping into the new closed beta, which is now open and until noon on Friday, April 1st (PST).
The beta is available exclusively on Steam [click here to download the Beta via Steam]. Once installed, gamers can battle the Darkspore with up to 4 people in co-op, or 1v1 or 2v2 PvP action.
According to Maxis, they've used the additional time to further balance and fine-tune the game, and incorporate fan input so that the game will be "just right" for its release toward the end of next month.
Valve also announced that until Friday those who purchase three copies of the game will get a fourth free!
