With July just days away, Sony has revealed next month's batch of free games coming through PlayStation Plus. Beginning July 2nd, PS Plus members can claim Borderlands 3, NHL 24, and Among Us. All three games are playable on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Released in 2019, Borderlands 3 is the fourth entry in the mainline series and a sequel to 2012's Borderlands 2. The action-packed role-playing shooter shares the same core loop as the previous games in the series with players taking on missions, defeating enemies, and receiving loot.

Borderlands 3 introduces four new Vault Hunters — Amara, Moze, Zane, and FL4K — each with their own unique abilities, skill trees, customization, and personality. Answering a recruiting call from the Crimson Raiders, the team arrives on Pandora and embarks on an action-packed, mayhem-fueled adventure.

With the Borderlands live-action movie adaptation releasing in August, it's no surprise that PS Plus will be featuring Borderlands 3 as a free giveaway. What better way to remind players of the fun of the franchise and get them interested again just in time for the movie?

Next up on the list is NHL 24. Although the NHL season just ended with the Florida Panthers hoisting the Stanley Cup Trophy, hockey fans can continue the fun with NHL 24.

NHL 24 features quite a few improvements over its predecessor. The new Exhaust Engine " recreates the rush and fatigue of high-pressure games, rewarding extended offensive play with game-changing effects." Total Control Skill Moves and the Vision Passing System have been refreshed and revamped to allow for more authentic gameplay. NHL 24 offers a wide swath of game modes, including Ultimate Team, World of Chel (with crossplay), and a redesigned EASHL.

The final free game for July is Among Us, the multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by Innersloth. Among Us was initially released in 2018, but didn't real gain popularity until 2020 when many streamers started playing it during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The game received a ton of attention and never really looked back. It has since been ported to all major platforms and there's even a new animated series on the way from CBS Studios. The series features a star-studded cast that includes Randall Park, Yvette Nicole Brown, Elijah Wood, Ashley Johnson, Dan Stevens, Patton Oswalt, and more. There's no release date yet, but a trailer debuted earlier this month.

As for the game, it's your typical social deduction game, in which players are split into two teams: the Crew and the Imposters. The Crew are tasked with fixing things around the ship and trying to weed out the Imposters. The Imposters try to sabotage the ship and kill everyone without being discovered.

All three of these games will be available for all PlayStation Plus subscribers from July 2. Available July 16th is an added bonus: a Genshin Impact in-game reward bundle with Primogems, Fragile Resin, Hero's Wit, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and Mora.

As a reminder, PS Plus members have until July 1st to claim June's free games: SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW Fight Forever and Streets of Rage 4
