The wait is almost over, as Sucker Punch's highly anticipated, and long-awaited Ghost of Tsushima will finally be hitting store shelves worldwide this Friday the 17th of July, and becoming the last Triple-A title to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
This generation of consoles has seen some pretty great games being released on the PlayStation 4, and with first party titles like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, God of War, MARVEL's Spider-Man, and the recently released The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima has some big shoes to fill.
Fortunately, the review embargo for the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima has already been lifted, and Sucker Punch's most recent title has been getting some pretty solid reviews; currently with a very respectable 84/100 on review aggregator site Metacritic.
Just a few days ago, PlayStation released the launch trailer for the game, ahead of this Friday's launch, and we thought they were done releasing videos for the soon-to-be-released title, but we were wrong.
Today PlayStation has shared a combat overview for Ghost of Tsushima, which reveals some very interesting details about, well, the combat in the game, and how different fighting stances can help players defeat their enemies.
Interestingly enough, reviews have revealed that Ghost of Tsushima does not feature a level-based progression system — meaning that the game allows players to get better at the game, and face tougher enemies with ease as they themselves progress as fighters; making it a more rewarding experience.
Take a look:
In 1274, the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the Japanese island of Tsushima and slaughters its legendary samurai defenders. Jin Sakai is one of the last survivors of a noble samurai clan. To combat his overwhelming foes, he must pioneer deadly new fighting techniques--the way of The Ghost--and wage an unconventional war for the people of Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is expected to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on Friday the 17th of July.
