THQ Nordic has just announced
Monkey King: Hero is Back, which is being produced in association with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Hong Kong based Oasis Games Limited studio.
Monkey King: Hero is Back is a game that is actually inspired by a movie also called
Monkey King: Hero is Back, which was released in Chinese theaters in 2015, and Sony Interactive Entertainment has also teamed up with Oct Animation Studio to give this recently announced game some impressive visuals that seek to give the game look and feel of the movie.
As per the announcement, THQ Nordic has revealed that
Monkey King: Hero is Back is expected to release for the PlayStation 4 and PC on the
17th of October, and also revealed that THQ Nordic will distribute a
Standard and
Hero Edition of the game.
Pre-orders for
Monkey King: Hero is Back Standard Edition will open on the
19th of August, while pre-orders for the game's
Hero Edition have already started
today.

Like the movie, this action-adventure game tells the story of the young monk Liuer meeting his hero Sun Wukong, but places the focus on the Monkey King himself while also introducing players to various stories and subplots not found in the movie. Together, Sun Wukong, Liuer, and Pigsy embark on a journey of adventure, while deepening the bonds of friendship between them.
Monkey King: Hero is Back is expected to release for the PlayStation 4 and PC on the 17th of October.
