The
PlayStation Classic was revealed back in September of this year, surprising pretty much everyone. This new console by Sony was following in Nintendo's footsteps by releasing a classic version of their first video game home console, which also comes pre-loaded with some of their most iconic titles of the time.
Today, the official PlayStation Blog has shared some new bits of information about the console and its UI, as well as other interesting details pertaining to the memory card management. Fans will be pleased to find out that the
PlayStation Classic will automatically create a save point whenever the player presses the Reset button.
Pressing the Reset button on the
PlayStation Classic will also take players back to the main menu, where they can choose to continue playing the game where they left off, or play any other of the 20 pre-loaded titles the console is including. Traditional in-game saving is also included, which creates a traditional save file on the console's virtual memory card.
The Open button, however, will only be used to "change discs" for titles that used to come with more than one CD like
Metal Gear Solid and
Final Fantasy VII. The
PlayStation Classic truly aims to bring back most of the elements that the original
Sony PlayStation had, and fans will be able to get their hands on this fantastic console when it becomes available worldwide on the
3rd of December.
Relive the moments that changed gaming forever, with the iconic PlayStation Classic – featuring 20 of the best games from the original PlayStation console.
