Earlier this week, reports revealed that PlayStation 5 accessories like DualSense controllers and others would become available in the United Kingdom a week prior to the console's release, and it seems that this will also be the case in North America.
To provide further context, in the United Kingdom the PlayStation 5 is launching on Thursday the 19th of November, which is a week after Sony's next-gen console launches in North America and other regions; becoming available on the Thursday the 12th of November, to be precise.
This led us to assume that accessories releasing a week earlier was somewhat deliberate, in order to coincide with the release of the PlayStation 5 in other regions. Whether it made sense or not, that's what it looked like.
New information has revealed that this will also be the case in North America, and this information actually comes from Sony in emails that they have been issuing to customers who have pre-purchased PlayStation 5 accessories from the official website.
According to Sony's statement, PlayStation 5 accessories will be releasing in North America on Friday the 30th of October, which is actually a couple of weeks before the console finally becomes available in that region; a date in which retailers like Target will also begin selling the products.
The PlayStation 5 will obviously include a DualSense controller, and players will also be able to purchase the Media Remote, Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, HD camera, or the DualSense charging station a couple of weeks before they finally get their hands on the console itself. Neat.
PlayStation 5 is expected to launch on Thursday the 12th of November in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea; worldwide release on Thursday the 19th of November.
