Sony has kept players highly anticipating news about their next-gen console, the PlayStation 5, and while they have shared quite a bunch of information about it, they still have some important details to share; starting with its release date.
Microsoft has just recently revealed the price for both the Xbox Series X and its low-end counterpart, the Xbox Series S, and we have yet to hear news from Sony in regards to the highly anticipated PlayStation 5.
Fortunately, Sony has just announced that a special presentation, which will focus entirely on the PlayStation 5, will be livestreamed next Wednesday the 16th of September at 1:00 PM Pacific Time / 5:00 PM Eastern Time / 6: 00 PM Central European Summer Time / 5: 00 PM British Summer Time.
Sony doesn't mention exactly what is it that they will be sharing, but it is fair to expect an official release date, and a price reveal that will hopefully not make players go broke. It would also be great if the company reveals whether the PlayStation 5 will be backwards compatible with previous consoles or not.
At this point, it is also possible that they will confirm which games will be available on day one. MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a day one relese, but what about Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart? Could players also see Gran Turismo 7 releasing on launch day? Will Sony or other developers announce more games on Wednesday? We'll just have to patiently wait and see for ourselves.
