Yesterday, we reported on the God of War video game
staying in the best-selling UK charts for 5 straight weeks. Well, the game's not doing too bad in the U.S. either. In fact, it's safe to say the game is doing well all over the globe as industry analysts are firmly reporting that the soft reboot has set the record for copies sold during the first month.
That's rather impressive when you consider the feat covers the PS4, PS3, PS2 and the original PlayStation, which was released back in 1995. The previous record-holder was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which was released on the PS2 in 2004.
With the gaming landscape dominated by Fortnite currently, it's nice that a title like God of War can illustrate that single-player games still have an audience.
His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive…And teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series—satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative—and fuses them anew.
God of War is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
