Santa Monica's
God of War is quite possibly one of the strongest contenders for this year's Game of the Year. The developers managed to deliver a great game with a rich story, rich characters, and proper character development—all of that while still reinventing the series while still keeping it faithful to the
God of War series.
What the team behind
God of War has done is simply remarkable, adding lots of replay value that keeps players coming back to the game for more, even after completing the main story. As if that wasn't enough,
God of War just recently got its New Game Plus mode—further proving that this title should not be overlooked by fans of
God of War games, nor newcomers to the series.
The journey in
God of War is nothing short of an epic and, like every proper epic worthy of telling stories about, the game even manages to keeps players entertained when doing something as simple as traversing on a boat. If there's something that a lot of fans will agree on is that the stories told by Mimir on those mandatory boat rides were simply a lot of fun.
Not only did these stories add to the game's incredibly thorough lore, but they also gave players a sense of actually being in that fantastic world of
God of War. Today, Sony has released a short video highlighting some of those brilliant stories while rowing a boat.
Take a look:
His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive…And teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series—satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative—and fuses them anew.
God of War is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
