Did THE LAST OF US Episode 6 Introduce A Major Season 2 Character?

Last night's sixth episode of The Last of Us, "Kin," may have introduced a character who will be very familiar to anyone who has played Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II video game...

This week's episode of The Last of Us, "Kin," was a somewhat lighter affair after the tragic events of the fifth instalment, as Joel finally reunites with his brother, Tommy, and - after a heated exchange - solidifies his bond with Ellie.

The episode featured quite a few nods to the games, particularly Part II (Shimmer the horse, etc), but one specific moment has led to a lot of speculation that a major character may have been introduced in a seemingly random scene.

Shortly after Joel and Ellie arrive at Jackson, the latter spots a dark-haired girl watching her while she's eating and yells, "what are you looking at?" Fans immediately began to wonder if this might be Dina, who joins Ellie on her revenge mission in Part II and ultimately becomes her love interest.

A bit of a stretch? Sure - but listen to the following clip from the after-show podcast.

The character is listed in the credits as "Staring Girl," and is played by 26-year-old actress Paolina van Kleef. She's clearly playing younger, though, and remember, if the second season follows the games, it'll begin after a 3-year time-jump.

What do you guys think? Was this Dina, or are the showrunners just having some fun here? Drop us a comment down below.
