One of the most anticipated games of this generation is set to release this year, that is according to former IGN editor Alanah Pearce. While this isn't as substantial as an official confirmation from Naughty Dog, it is certainly interesting given how many seperate sources have corroborated the same information.
Last week saw the release of a video by Sony which showed off "coming attractions" for 2019 and conspicuously featured The Last of Us Part II. A recent listing on Amazon Italy stated that the game was to come out in March of this year. The PlayStation Music YouTube channel also said the highly-anticpiated sequel was to arrive in 2019.
A recent Twitter convo discussed the most highly-anticipated games of the year. Pearce (@Charalanahzard) was suprised that it didn't feature a mention of The Last of Us, so she chimed in stating "TLOU 2 100% has" been confirmed for a release this year. After being pressed for more, Pearce said as such: "So I have been told multiple times by multiple people. Not like things can't change or it's set in stone if it hasn't been publicly announced though."
These tweets have since been deleted, which only adds even more credence to their contents. But of course people were able to take screenshots of them beforehand - Extra.ie for example.
What do you think of Pearce's tweets? Do you think The Last of Us Part II will be arriving this year?
