Earlier this year, Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, which is a new entry in the critically acclaimed series, but it isn't the kind of game players would've expected. Don't be confused, as this game is in canon, but it is not an adventure title, but a rhythm game.
Fans of the Kingdom Hearts series will know that no game in the series is a spin-off, since every single one of them expand the lore immensely, to the point even dedicated fans have had trouble following the story; everyone will agree, however, that the story is still the series' strong suit.
Considering that Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is a rhythm game, many players have been eager to see how Square Enix tackles this genre. This wouldn't be the developer's first rodeo, though, since they have previously worked on the critcially praised Theatrhythm FinalFantasy series for the Nintendo 3DS.
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is still a bit under a month away from becoming available, but Square Enix announced last month that the game would be getting a playable demo mid-October. True to their word, the demo for the game has just released today, completely out of nowhere, so players can get an idea of what the game will offer once it officially launches.
To let everyone know that the Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory demo has finally become available, Square Enix released a charming gameplay trailer, so be sure to check it out down below.
