Kingdom Hearts III almost exactly a year ago and the long-awaited
Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind DLC comes out today! However, that's isn't all that's going on in the
Kingdom Hearts world at the moment.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura recently confirmed (via
PushSquare) that there are multiple new
Kingdom Hearts projects in the works right now. Apparently, there are two new teams at work on something
Kingdom Hearts-related, a mobile teams, and the team that just finished off work on
Kingdom Hearts III.
Nomura said that one of the projects is coming
"surprisingly soon." Shortly after this Q&A, a new
Kingdom Hearts mobile game was announced.
"Project Xehanort" is the working title for
"an all-new Kingdom Hearts experience" that's coming to iOS and Android devices in Spring 2020.
This was announced via Twitter (
@ProjectXehanort) as well as a new page
over on Square Enix's official website. "Why did he become the seeker of Darkness?" the site reads and essentially confirms that the game will serve as an origin story for the franchise's main antagonist.
