After an 11-year hiatus, college football is back in video games. EA Sports dropped the long-awaited gameplay trailer for its college football video game series, EA Sports College Football 25 (EA has since dropped "NCAA" from its franchise title).

The highly anticipated reveal trailer gives fans a first look at the adrenaline-inducing gameplay and iconic atmospheres of modern-era college football. EA Sports College Football 25 is said to introduce "CampusIQ" — "a suite of features that brings to life the true depth of college football through wide open, fast-paced gameplay across all 134 FBS schools in all areas of the game," according to EA.

Fan-favorite modes such as Dynasty and Road To Glory are set to return, along with all-new modes like Road to the College Football Playoff and College Football Ultimate Team. Dynasty sees you create a coach and take full control of your own college football program, establishing a coaching staff, recruiting players, and building your program into a viable contender in the 12-team College Football Playoff. You can also create your own college football program through the Team Builder website.

Road To Glory puts you in the shoes of a student athlete as you build your college football legacy. It's not just about your on-field skills, as you'll have to manage your weekly schedule, GPA and overall player image.

Road to the College Football Playoff is a new way to play competitively across consoles against other players. As you represent your university, you'll have to beat tough opponents and secure votes to progress and level up divisions.

The final mode is College Football Ultimate Team. Similar to what we see in the Madden NFL franchise, you'll build a dream team of college football stars and legends, engaging in Solo Challenges and H2H Seasons. You'll be able to test your team in competitive modes such as College Football Ultimate Team Champs and Champs Gauntlet.

Some new gameplay mechanics include the Wear & Tear System. This is basically a robust stamina system where you'll need to "manage your players’ health, limit fatigue, assess risk of injury, and avoid on-field mistakes by using strategic substitutions to ensure your players are at their best when it counts the most."

As part of creating an authentic gameday environment, there will also be "game-altering homefield advantages." Playing in hostile environments will result in distractions like screen shaking, missing pre-play icons, and moving play art.

EA Sports College Football 25 is see to release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 19, 2024. Those who purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game will get three-day early access and other in-game benefits.

EA also announced an MVP Bundle that includes the Deluxe Editions of EA Sports College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25 for $149.99. You'll get early access and all of the in-game rewards that come with both Deluxe Editions like Madden/College Football Points, Ultimate Team Packs, early access, and more.
