We do know that Capcom is trying to change their old release strategy with the attempt on developing four big-budget titles in-house at once. In 2019, players will have a chance to check out "only" two new Capcom games - the remake of
Resident Evil 2 and
Devil May Cry V. While rumor has it that the studio is also working on the remastered version o
f Resident Evil 3, Marvel vs. Capcom V and an all-new
Mega Man, nothing has been confirmed, as Capcom is enjoying playing their cards close to their chest.
According to
Dragon's Dogma and the upcoming
Devil May Cry V Director Hideaki Itsuno, he already has some plans for his future projects. “
Soon we will complete Devil May Cry 5, the first numbered title in the series in 11 years. I’m putting everything I have into it and am looking forward to everyone’s feedback," Itsuno said in an interview with 4Game. "
Unlike previous entries, the hurdles of sharing videos and the like have lowered, so I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone’s superplay videos on social media. After its release on March 8, and after checking the free update coming in April, I’m going to refresh and prepare for my next title. I hope to work hard so that my next title meets everyone’s expectations, and so that I can announce it as soon as possible.”
Considering that the gap between Itsuno's latest project,
Dragon's Dogma, and his next game,
DMCV, is pretty big (six-year, to be exact), we might wait for this promised announcement of his next big thing for quite some time. The fact that Itsuno expressed his interest in making a
Dragon's Dogma sequel and had a plan for its story in 2013 may suggest what the acclaimed creator's future project might be.
A new demonic invasion has begun with the seeds of a demon tree being sown in Red Grave City. Now fully equipped with his trusty Red Queen and Blue Rose, and a new arsenal of rad robot hands thanks to his partner Nico, Nero must rise up to this new impossible task. With such insane amount of energy and destruction emanating from this surprise invasion, the stage is now set for the latest chapter of the “Sons of Sparda” saga.
Devil May Cry 5 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC March 8, 2019.
